The Manhattans

featuring

Gerald alston

An absolute legendary powerhouse in R&B music returns to the McGregor stage! The Manhattans featuring Gerald Alston bring timeless R&B and unforgettable contagious energy to every stage they step on. They continue to captivate audiences with their classic and timeless sound.

Formed in the 1960s, The Manhattans had a string of hits with Carnival Records. Then in the 70s, Gerald Alston took over as the lead singer, allowing the band to break out of their mold as "doo-woppers" and achieve major national success on Starday/King Records with a Teddy Randazzo love song entitled “A Million To One.” From there The Manhattans have had no shortage of hits, including the 1976 "Kiss and Say Goodbye" and the 1980 "Shining Star."

We will also acknowledge and celebrate the 50th school reunion of the historic Henderson Institute.

Chairmen of the Board: Three men singing with mics, stage lights behind them, colorful floral suit jackets.
