Model T Basic Operation and Information
The Model T has three forward speeds plus a reverse gear, with the floor gear shift arranged as pictured left. There is no clutch mechanism. Make sure the car is completely stopped before changing gears. Before moving, be sure the "Main Power" switch (and the "Lights" switch, if you so choose) is flipped up to the "on" position. The accelerator pedal requires a bit of force to move. Be prepared! The car will move with a lurch! It is highly recommended that you stay in first gear onstage and block movement of the car so that it moves in a straight line. The car also has no brakes. The transmission automatically stops the car when the accelerator returns to home position.

The seats are intentionally distressed, and both bottom seat cushions are removable to easily facilitate the trashing of the car scene in Ragtime. The seat tears are not visible from the house when installed for use.

- The shipping crate measures 78.5” high, 61” wide, and 112.5” long
- The car itself weighs approximately 450lb. The car plus the shipping crate weighs approximately 1200lb.
- The Model T is powered by two group 24MS marine batteries wired in series at 24 volts.
