Come and join us on Saturday, September 26th for the Inaugural McGregor Hall Choir Day! Be part of a day full of gospel music that's designed for the participation from all ages, abilities, backgrounds, and experience! Together we'll enjoy new things, celebrate the old, and experience a rich culture that may or may not be new to you!
We will be joined by Clinician Shanaan Burrell, who will lead morning and afternoon rehearsals with a mass gospel choir of all participants. Participants will then perform an early-evening concert, accompanied by a live professional band. The concert is a free event open to all members of the public!
Shaanan Burrell is a distinguished second-generation Caribbean-American Worship Leader, Songwriter, Teacher, Producer, Multi-Instrumentalist, Linguist, and Minister of the Gospel. He earned the bachelor’s degree in Choral Studies from Liberty University and is pursuing a Double Master’s degree in Music Technology with emphasis’ on Performance and Studio Technologies at Southern University of Utah. Shaanan is the founder and host of “El Sonido de la Casa/The Sound of the House,” a Worship and Arts training held in the Caribbean, which provides intensive training and mentorship to aspiring musicians, singers, choir directors and other church leadership. Burrell also leads the millennial creative arts collective “Nations of the Earth,” based in Northern Virginia, that not only provides a safe, and positive collaborative space for young creative leaders of various ethnic backgrounds to meet and connect, but also motivate, inspire, equip and launch each other to fulfill the work of the great commission in their own unique spheres of influence using their gifts providing them a community of people that support both in word and in deed. Shaanan recently concluded his tenure as the department chair and lead professor of Voice and Piano studies, and Ministerial Development ultimately being promoted as the Director of Student Worship at Instituto Canzion after serving faithfully for 7 years. Currently, Shaanan serves as VP of Production for Milagro Nationn Records.
